Tough Times - break from NC

Due to a significant escalation in our son's epilepsy in recent weeks, and with a series of surgeries, procedures and investigations ahead over the coming months, I am taking some time away to be there for Ashton.

Over the months ahead, he'll undergo three ENT procedures in the hope they improve his airway enough to avoid a much larger reconstructive surgery. He's also having a PET scan to see whether specialists can identify a focal point that may make epilepsy surgery a possibility. Alongside all of this, an unexpected fall recently left him with a broken hand, requiring another surgery and adding to an already full schedule of hospital appointments.

It pains me deeply to step away, but right now my focus needs to be entirely on Ashton, supporting him through everything that lies ahead, and looking after our family's wellbeing.

Thank you to our community for your patience, understanding, and ongoing support. We will be back soon and as always please see our socials for stories, tips and inspiration for NICU families.
